Terms of Use
Last updated: 5 November 2026
By creating an account or using Socia you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Who can use Socia
You must be 18 or over, and able to enter a binding agreement. You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure. One person, one account.
How to behave
You must follow our Community Guidelines (see Help & FAQ). In short: be yourself, be respectful, keep it appropriate, and don't harass, threaten, scam, spam or sell to other members. Don't share other people's private information. We may remove content or accounts that break these rules.
Your content
You own the photos and text you post. You give us a licence to store and show them to other members as part of Socia, so the app can work. You promise you have the right to post them.
Meeting people safely
Socia helps people meet, but we can't check everyone's identity or intentions, and we don't run background checks. You are responsible for what you do and who you meet. Please read our Safety centre and meet in public places. Report anyone who makes you feel unsafe.
Hosting plans and communities
Anyone can host a plan or run a community. Hosts are members, not employees or agents of Socia. A host is responsible for the plan or community they run, including the place, the safety of the venue, the accuracy of what they say, and any rules they set, such as an age range or women and non-binary people only. Hosts may not use rules to discriminate unlawfully. Organisers can remove members and block them from rejoining. We may remove any plan or community, and the people running it, that breaks these terms.
Tickets and payments for plans
Hosts can charge for a plan. Payments and host payouts are handled by Stripe, under Stripe's terms, and we never see your card details. A ticket is a payment to the host for the plan, not to Socia, and it is separate from Premium, which is billed by Apple. We may charge hosts a platform fee, which we will show before they set a price.
- If a host cancels a paid plan, every ticket for it is refunded in full to the original payment method. Refunds can take several days to appear.
- If you can't go, ask the host. Hosts decide whether to refund tickets for plans that go ahead, unless the law says otherwise.
- If a plan wasn't as described, you can report it from the plan page, and you keep any rights the law gives you.
- Tickets are for admission to a plan. They are not for digital content or features inside the app.
Member deals
Deals and discounts are offered by the businesses, not by Socia. The business sets the terms, and may change or withdraw a deal. We don't guarantee that a business will honour a deal. Some deals are only for Premium members, and a deal may be limited to one use per member. Please don't share codes with people who aren't members.
Premium subscriptions
- Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly to your Apple Account.
- Payment is charged when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions. Deleting your Socia account does not cancel it.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
- We may change features and prices. We will tell you before a price change affects you, as the App Store requires.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Profile > Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put people at risk.
Things we can't promise
Socia is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that you will meet anyone, that other members' profiles are accurate, or that the service will always be available or error-free. Venues, hours and events come from third parties and may be out of date.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what members do, online or in person.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app. If you keep using Socia after that, you accept the new terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [country or state]. Courts in [place] can hear disputes, though you may have rights to bring a claim where you live.
